May 17, 2017: Dr. the Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts joins the national community in mourning the passing of legendary guitarist Anthony Voisin.

The nephew of late Parang Queen Daisy Voisin, Tony, as he is commonly known to his friends,  joined Charlie's Roots in 1975 and spent most of the ‘80s creating a definitive sound in a number of local and international recordings.

Tony will be lovingly remembered as a genuine soul by his contemporaries and those who followed in his footsteps; such as award winning producer Richard “Charsu” Ahong who described him as an excellent musician; soft spoken, with an unforgettable smile.

Ace keyboardist Carlyle Roberts recalled working with Tony in the tightknit and legendary Charlie’s Roots. Mr Roberts hailed Tony as a fun loving, excellent guitarist who will be remembered as one of our great musicians.

Anthony Voisin will also be remembered as a mentor who gave of his time freely to young people who had a passion for music.  The Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts through the Honourable Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly extends condolences to his family and friends,  the musical fraternity and fans of Anthony Voisin.
