May 31, 2017: The Ministry of Education has requested official correspondence be sent by the Santanam Dharma Maha Sabha (SDMS) in order to consider the completion of two of its schools - the Roodal Moonilal Ramai Trace and Reform Village Hindu Schools.
On Tuesday 30th May, 2017 during Indian Arrival Day celebrations, SDMS Secretary General Sat Maharaj called on the Ministry of Education to release two Hindu schools to the SDMS for completion as construction works on the schools have been delayed for months.
The Honourable Anthony Garcia, Minister of Education said he was approached by a member of the SDMS board recently via a telephone conversation where the proposal was put forward to him, and he asked the board member to put this recommendation in writing so further discussions could be held.
Minister Garcia said at this point no official communication has been received. He stated that the Ministry of Education is unable to consider this request until this is received.
