We continue to work with the local regulator, the Trinidad and Tobago Civil Aviation Authority (TTCAA), to ensure strict adherence to all standards and recommended practices.
It should be noted that the robbery incident that occurred on Wednesday December 6th 2017 took place at the public access area of one of the cargo facilities during the process of the transfer of cash from the custody of Amalgamated Security Services to the airline security. It should be reiterated that there were no breaches of restricted areas at the Piarco International Airport during the robbery incident
The Authority reassures the public that Security is a priority of the Authority and we are committed to working with all stakeholders to maintain high levels of safety and security at the Piarco International Airport for the benefit of all airport users. The Authority is continuing to work with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service as the investigation proceeds.
