St. Benedict’s College wins Schools Extempo competition

Kevan Calliste’s Extempo singing skills proved too much for the other finalists as he emerged victorious in the National Junior Extempo Monarch Competition Finals held at the Southern Academy for the Performing Arts (SAPA), San Fernando on Thursday 8th February, 2018.

Second place went to St. Francis College, student, Keishon Phillip while Desle Julien from St. Mary’s College came third.

His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Anthony Carmona, teachers and parents were treated to a scintillating display of Extempo by students from twelve (12) secondary schools​ ​t​hrough out Trinidad and Tobago.

The Ministry of Education has financially supported the organisers of the National Junior Extempo Monarch Competition 2018.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Education continues to provide financial and other forms of support for the National Schools Panorama, Schools National Carnival Intellectual Chutney Soca Monarch and the National Schools Calypso Monarch and Soca Monarch Competitions. Minister Garcia and other Senior Executives of the Ministry of Education have attended most of the events this Carnival season.
