A regular maintenance exercise will be carried out on the North Oropuche Water Treatment Plant later this week. As a consequence, customers in parts of East Trinidad served by the plant will experience an interruption in their water supply on Wednesday February 28th, 2018, between the hours of 8a.m and 8p.m.

The Minister of Public Utilities Senator Robert Le Hunte and the Ministry are aware of the planned interruption. The Minister wishes to assure affected customers that all systems will be put in place to minimize the effects of this disruption, which has become necessary to effect electrical maintenance work at the plant.

Some of the affected areas include: Sangre Grande Town, Vega De Oropuche, Toco Road, Sangre Grande, Sangre Chiquito, Manzanilla, Coalmine and Guaico, Tamana, Malabar Phases 1, 3 and 4., Tumpuna Road, San Rafael, Brazil, La Horquetta, Carapo, O’ Meara Road, Signature Park, Mausica Road, Maloney, Five Rivers, Oropune Gardens, Millennium Park, Sunrise Park and Golden Grove Road.

In addition, WASA advises that it may take between 8-12 hours for the supply to be normalized to some of the affected areas following the resumption of production at the facility.
