The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in Port of Spain and environs, served by the El Socorro Booster Station, who are currently experiencing an interruption in their water supply, that this is due to a ruptured 21 inch transmission main, along Serpentine Road, St. Clair, Port of Spain.

Damage to the pipeline was done overnight by a third party contractor carrying out excavation works in the area. Emergency repairs are scheduled to be completed by 4:00 p.m. today - Tuesday 27, March 2018.

Areas that would be affected include:

  • Port-of-Spain
  • Morvant
  • Westmoorings
  • Cocorite
  • St. James
  • Woodbrook
  • Cascade
  • Belmont
  • Laventille
  • Gonzales
  • East Dry River

On restart of the El Socorro Booster Station, customers are further advised that up may take between 12 to 18 hours for the scheduled pipe-borne service to normalize to some affected areas. For further information or assistance, customers can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426. A limited truck-borne water supply is available upon request with particular focus on medical institutions, schools and homes for the aged.

The Authority apologises for the inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
