April 26, 2016: Media houses are cordially invited to cover the National Security Officers Foundation (NSOF) Fourth Annual Interfaith Service on Tuesday 26th April, 2016 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall, Knox Street, Port of Spain.
The Interfaith Service will be followed by a Street Procession from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., comprising representatives of all Military, Law Enforcement and Public Safety Agencies accompanied by their respective bands.
The Minister of National Security, Major General (Ret’d) the Honourable Edmund Dillon will deliver remarks at the Interfaith Service and take the salute during the Procession on the northern side of Knox Street in the vicinity of the old Port of Spain Library.
The Procession commences at Hart Street, Port of Spain opposite Woodford Square and proceeds North onto Frederick Street and then West onto Knox Street. The procession will then head South onto Abercromby Street and will conclude East onto Hart Street.
In June 2012, the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago agreed to the establishment of a National Security Officers’ Foundation (NSOF) under the auspices of the Ministry of National Security, and to the declaration of April 26 each year as a “National Security Officers Day of Appreciation”.
