April 28, 2016: Media houses are cordially invited to cover the National Security Officers Foundation (NSOF) Fourth Annual Induction and Award Ceremony on Friday 29th April, 2016 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall Auditorium, Knox Street, Port of Spain.
In commemoration of the National Security Officers Day of Appreciation 2016, National Security Officers from the various Military, Law Enforcement and Public Safety Agencies who fell in the line of duty in 2015 and between 1970 and 1979, will be formally inducted into the National Security Officers Memorial (NSOM). Additionally, awards will be presented to National Security Officers for their distinguished service in 2015.
The Minister of National Security, Major General (Ret’d) the Honourable Edmund Dillon will deliver the feature address. The Honourable Minister and other Government Officials will also make presentations to relatives of fallen officers and serving National Security Officers.
In June 2012, the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago agreed to the establishment of the National Security Officers’ Foundation (NSOF) under the auspices of the Ministry of National Security, and to the declaration of April 26 each year as a National Security Officers Day of Appreciation.
