The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of Central and South Trinidad that, further to the last update announcing the recommencement of operation at the Point Lisas Desalination Plant at 12:00 noon on Saturday July 21st, 2018 that, the Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago (Desalcott) (the owner and operator of plant) is still in the process of ramping up production and is currently delivering approximately 25 million gallons daily (mgd) to the Authority.
The latest information from Desalcott indicates that delivery to the Authority is expected to increase over the coming three to four days, until the contracted flow of 40 mgd is achieved.

This includes re-distributing water supplies from the Caroni and Navet Water Treatment Plants in order to supplement the flows from the Desalination Plant.
Temporary water supply schedules to affected areas for the period July 23rd– 28th, 2018 can be accessed via the Authority’s website: www.wasa.gov.tt or Facebook page: WASA Trinidad and Tobago.
For further information or assistance, customers are encouraged to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/26. A limited truck-borne water service will be available with priority given to special homes, health care and government institutions.
The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused as a result of this situation at the Desalination Plant.
