Assalaamu-Alaikum

May the peace and blessings of Almighty Allah be upon you.

On Wednesday 22 August, 2018  Muslims in Trinidad and Tobago and all over the world will celebrate Eid ul Adha.

Eid ul Adha is a time of prayer, reflection and celebration. On this day we are reminded of the great sacrifice of Prophet Abraham.

Muslims remember the story of Prophet Abraham and Prophet Ishmael by carrying its message with them. A message of compassion for those less fortunate and sharing what we have with others. These values are more relevant today than ever before. We must come together in our communities and as a society to draw strength from our shared humanity.

Eid ul Adha is also known as the "Festival of Sacrifice". It is a special time when millions of Muslims perform acts of charity and celebrate with family and friends. It brings family and friends together for prayer and a shared meal. It reminds us of the values of compassion and empathy and should prompt us all to show extra kindness to those around us and give back to our communities.

On behalf of my family and staff I would like to wish Muslims in Trinidad and Tobago and across the world Eid ul Adha Mubarak.
