The Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh, Minister of Health, received special blessings of a Rakhi, yesterday, in celebration of Raksha Bandhan by the yoga community. The blessings were offered by Sis. Amar Joyti Brahmin, Director of the Raja Yoga Centres across the UAE (United Arab Emirates), Oman and Qatar during a courtesy call to the Minister of Health.
The festival of Raksha Bandhan is celebrated during the month of August. Traditionally, a Rakhi, which is a thread bracelet, is tied by a sister to a brother to symbolize a bestowing of good wishes, trust, purity love and protection.
Sister Amar, who is a powerful and inspiring motivational speaker, is the special guest of the Trinidad and Tobago Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga body.
The Minister of Health is honoured to be the recipient of such blessing and supports the practice of yoga in creating a happy and healthy community.
