Today, Minister of National Security the Honourable Stuart R. Young, M.P. joined with the family and colleagues of Ag. Superintendent of Prisons Mr. Wayne Earl Jackson in celebrating the life of the fallen officer.

Paying tribute at the funeral service for the Prisons Superintendent, Minister Young stated it was a privilege for him to have met Mr. Jackson while touring the Maximum Security Prison, Arouca in August.

The Minister described Superintendent Jackson as a true patriot who performed his job with pride and served his country with passion.

He thanked all prison officers for their unwavering service to Trinidad and Tobago despite facing dangerous circumstances on a daily basis in the conduct of their duties.

Minister Young took the opportunity to reiterate that an attack on any law enforcement officer is an attack on all. He emphasized that all of the National Security apparatus will work together to confront the criminal element in the country; that there will be sustained collaboration among all national security agencies in combatting crime.

The Minister gave his full commitment to work with the officers of the Prison Service and with all law enforcement agencies in providing safety and security to the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
On behalf of the Government, Minister Young expressed deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Superintendent Jackson and thanked them for supporting him when he delivered 30 years of service to Trinidad and Tobago as a Prisons Officer.
