On Wednesday 14th November, 2018, after the conclusion of the GECF Ministerial Meeting at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Honourable Stuart Young and the Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Senator the Honourable Franklin Khan, took the opportunity to meet with the People’s Minister of Petroleum of Venezuela, Manuel Salvador Quevedo Fernandez to advance several bilateral energy deals with Venezuela.
Detailed updates were given on the pending Dragon Gas Deal which is almost ready for execution. The Ministers were informed that all Government to Government Agreements were signed and that the final agreement, the Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) among Petroleos de Venezuela, Sociedad Anonima (PDVSA), Shell and National Gas Company (NGC) is almost ready for signing.
Additionally, updates were received with regards ongoing discussions on the Loran Manatee cross boarder development. Minister Quevedo Fernandez reiterated Venezuela’s commitment for energy co-operation with Trinidad.
Minister Quevedo Fernandez is also carded to visit Trinidad shortly for an extensive tour of Trinidad Energy Infrastructure, including the Point Lisas Industrial Estate and Atlantic LNG facilities in Point Fortin.
