Five persons were today appointed as Acting Masters of the High Court to serve in the Family and Children Division and the new District Criminal and Traffic Court. Deputy Chief Magistrate Nannette Forde-John; Senior Magistrates Gillian Scotland, Debra Quintyne, Michelle Maharajh-Brown and Deputy Registrar and Marshal Magaret Sookraj-Goswami were sworn in by the Honourable Mr Justice Peter Jamadar, Acting Chief Justice. Ms Shabiki Cazabon, Assistant Registrar and Deputy Marshal, has also been designated as an Acting Master of the High Court but was not available for yesterday’s ceremony.
The swearing in ceremony took place at the Hall of Justice, Port of Spain, and was witnessed by Mrs Nirala Bansee-Sookhai Registrar and Marshal of the Supreme Court; Mrs Wendy Lewis-Callender, Deputy Court Executive Administrator, Family and Children Division and Dr Barry Ishmael, Administrative Secretary to the Chief Justice.
