The region’s premier festival of the arts is searching the length and breadth of Trinidad and Tobago for known as well as up and coming performers to showcase their skills at CARIFESTA XIV, August 16-25, 2019. CARIFESTA is a 10-day, multi-disciplinary Arts and Culture festival which occurs every 2 years and aims to celebrate the spirit, culture and heritage of the Caribbean people through our expressions of Music, Visual Art, Food, Literature, Folklore, Theatre and Dance. With just under eight (8) months to go the search is on for Trinidad and Tobago’s talent at the CARIFESTA Talent Search and Casting Call which kicks off on January 12, 2019 at the UTT O’Meara Campus in Arima.
The CARIFESTA XIV Secretariat is taking an innovative approach to ensuring not only the widest possible participation in this celebration of the arts but also providing new talent with the opportunity to showcase their skills to the region. With over 5000 persons expected to pass through and enjoy performances on the three (3) stages of the Grand Market and Youth Village daily as well as stages at eight (8) Community Festivals and niche and signal events across Trinidad and Tobago, those selected will have the opportunity to perform to thousands of local and regional audiences at the Festival’s 150+ shows and activities.
The search is also a casting a call for performers for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of this celebration of the arts. The live, televised opening ceremony will showcase the grandeur of the (ten) 10 day festival and will feature cinematic scenes and themes from across the region and landmarks of Trinidad and Tobago while the closing ceremony celebrates the success of the festival and bids farewell to our guests as only Trinidad and Tobago can do it.
The CARIFESTA Talent Search and Casting Call takes place at four venues across Trinidad and Tobago:

- January 19, NAPA Port-of-Spain Trinidad
- January 26, SAPA San Fernando, Trinidad
- February 2, Shaw Park, Tobago
