The Ministry of Social Development and Family Services has signed a MOU with the National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago for information sharing on clients of both entities. The MOU was signed at the Head Office of the NIBTT, located at Queens Park West, Port of Spain on Wednesday 23rd January, 2019.
NIBTT’s Executive Director, Niala Persad-Poliah said “This collaboration will promote efficiency and effectiveness in the processing of grants as approximately forty to fifty thousand cross beneficiaries are expected to benefit, all with the intention of minimising service cost and time”.
Permanent Secretary, Jacinta Bailey-Sobers said that the Ministry was pleased to collaborate once more with the NIBTT and that the Ministry anticipates that both existing and new clients will benefit from the arrangement. According to PS Bailey-Sobers: “The Ministry has a longstanding relationship with the NIBTT and we intend to undertake some additional initiatives with the NIBTT to complement this initiative and improve services all to the benefit to the of the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
Other representatives of the Ministry witnessing the signing ceremony included Deputy Permanent Secretary Vijay Gangapersad, Acting Director of the Social Welfare Division Troy Pollonais, and IT Manager, Alvin Dain. Representing the NIBTT was Ms Sarah Baboolal, Executive Manager, Legal Services, including other senior NIBTT representatives who were present.
