On Wednesday 23rd January 2019, FashionTT and DHL hosted a meeting with the designers of the Value Chain Investment Programme (VCIP), at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Nicholas Towers, Port of Spain. DHL representatives delivered a presentation on their courier service as well as how they can help VCIP designers to export their products to regional and foreign markets.
DHL is an international courier, parcel and express mail service. It is also the world’s largest logistics company operating around the world, predominantly in sea and air mail. DHL understands that fashion is a fast-moving industry with lead times, accuracy, availability and reliability being of major importance. With this understanding DHL Trinidad has collaborated with FashionTT to assist in developing the local fashion industry through exportation.
This world-renowned shipping company has shown tremendous commitment to the fashion industry by providing a speedy response, excellent quality and convenient delivery for industry demands, especially in this era of multiple sales channels and online retailing. DHL has also developed logistics solutions to meet the challenging needs of the dynamic fashion sector.

The Fashion Value Chain Investment Programme assesses local firms by an independent international panel who categorizes firms into one of the four levels of the VCIP: The Global Value Chain (GVC) Programme, Non-Global Value Chain (non-GVC) Programme, Business Advisory and Financing Programme and the Future Support Training Programme. It is currently in its second cycle with cohort 2.
