Ministry of Health updated advisory on romaine lettuce

The Ministry of Health advises the public that the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has revised the status regarding Romaine Lettuce indicating that the outbreak is now over. Hence the food safety warning against consuming Romaine lettuce from the affected harvest region in the US has been removed.

Consumers are now advised that there is currently no recommendation for restaurants and retailers to avoid serving or selling any romaine lettuce grown in specific regions. Furthermore the MOH wish to remind consumers, food processors, restaurants  and food retail outlets to adhere to good hygiene practices when preparing food for consumption. 

The Ministry of Health will continue to monitor the situation and provide further advice to the Public as and when necessary.
