May 10, 2016: Last month, Tobago’s students once again dominated national secondary schools track and field.
Next week, it will be the primary schools turn to chase track and field glory during the National Primary School Championships on May 18.
The Tobago contingent of 83 students will leave the island on May 18 to compete at the Championship, which will be held at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain. This includes 44 boys and 39 girls.
Last year, Tobago placed third overall in the competition, but copped the victor ludorum and victrix ludorum titles.
Speaking during last Wednesday’s post Executive Council media briefing at the Administrative Complex, Calder Hall, Secretary of Education, Youth Affairs and Sport Huey Cadette said he is optimistic team Tobago will give strong performances at the games.
He also extended best wishes to the team.
