Information has come to the attention of the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development that unscrupulous persons have been fraudulently demanding payment from job seekers to be registered with the Ministry’s National Employment Services (NES) Unit in order to gain access to employment opportunities.

The Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development wishes to advise members of the public that registration to take advantage of the services of the National Employment Services (NES) Unit is free of charge to all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.

The NES has been instituted specifically for the purpose of introducing jobseekers to job opportunities available both in the public and private sectors. The process facilitates employers with a quick, easy, effective job matching mechanism at no cost to either party.  Since its inception, thousands of persons have secured employment through this service, currently being delivered on a daily basis, at the NES Offices located in Port of Spain, Sangre Grande, Chaguanas, San Fernando, Siparia, La Brea, Point Fortin and Tobago.

Registration with the National Employment Service and the referral of potential employees for employment involves a document verification/authentication process and a face-to-face interview with experienced Manpower Officers to determine the candidate’s suitability for relevant job opportunities. This facility assists personnel within Human Resource Units throughout Trinidad and Tobago in their recruitment initiatives whenever employment opportunities arise.

Members of the public are hereby notified to desist from making payment to any individual to register for job opportunities that may be provided through any of the offices of the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development.

For any further information on the matter, members of the public are invited to visit the Ministry’s website at www.molsed.gov.tt or contact the Corporate Communications Unit of the Ministry at Tel: 625-8478 Ext. 1211, 1208, 1203 or email: communicationsmolsmed@gov.tt.
