National Security Minister meets with Mexican Military Attache

Minister of National Security Stuart R. Young M.P. (right) presents a token of appreciation to outgoing Air and Military Attaché with the Embassy of the United Mexican States in Trinidad and Tobago Wing General Otoniel Gomez Morales.

Assurances to continue efforts to maintain Trinidad and Tobago’s security relations with Mexico were made on Monday 29 April 2019, following a courtesy call to Minister of National Security Stuart R. Young M.P. by outgoing Air and Military Attaché with the Embassy of the United Mexican States in Trinidad and Tobago Wing General Otoniel Gomez Morales, who has completed his two year tour of duty in Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister Young also asked Her Excellency Rosario Molinero, Ambassador of the United Mexican States to Trinidad and Tobago for Mexico’s assistance by providing expertise in the fight against organised crime. Minister Young thanked Wing General Morales and Ambassador Molinero for their efforts at maintaining a high level of bilateral cooperation between the Governments of Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico.

Meeting discussions included matters of mutual interest in the area of security and disaster preparedness. Both parties agreed to continue collaborating to make Trinidad and Tobago a safer place for all and to strengthen security across the Caribbean Region.
