5th meeting of the JSC on Energy Affairs to take place on May 17

May 16, 2016:  Please be advised that the Fifth Meeting of the Joint Select Committee on Energy Affairs will take place on Tuesday May 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the J. Hamilton Maurice Room, Mezzanine Floor, Office of the Parliament, Tower D, The Port of Spain International Waterfront Centre, #1A Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain.

As it continues its inquiry into the Strategies and Incentives to promote new production in the energy industry, the Committee will meet with officials from the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries.

 

 

The public hearing will continue to focus on the following five (5) inquiry objectives:

Objective 1 - to determine the MEEI’s current and upcoming strategies and incentives to promote new production in the energy industry;

Objective 2 - to examine the current efforts being taken to improve the inadequate supply of natural gas;

Objective 3 - to investigate the areas of prospective oil exploration in Trinidad and Tobago;

Objective 4 - to gain an appreciation of the status of drilling activity in Trinidad and Tobago; and

Objective 5 - to assess the current and forthcoming incentives to tackle the development of small and marginal gas fields
