A Taste of CARIFESTA comes to the Fiesta Plaza Movietowne this Saturday June 1, 2019 from 6pm.
This is the third installment of this promotional roadshow which kicked off in April at the Tobago Jazz Experience. CARIFESTA XIV, which will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from August 16-25, 2019, will celebrate the Arts of the region and Diaspora, with over 30 countries converging to connect, share and invest in the culture and arts of the region.
The promotional roadshow gives a taste of what can be expected with performances from across all genres of music and dance as well as spoken word and interactive games.
It will be an exciting evening with performances from Chutney Soca Monarchs and CARIFESTA brand ambassadors Neval and Nishard with chutney band, and festival headliners including the Khalnayak Academy of Dance, Nakita Gadsby and Haitian Jazz Band James Jessy and Band. Also to be featured are some of the outstanding talent that emerged from the first ever CARFESTA Talent Search.
These acts will also grace the CARIFESTA stage and includes cellist Tracell Frederick, spoken word artist Rochelle Rawlins, Moriba Francis and young “Frank Sinatra” Christian Mendez.
There will also be karaoke, games and several giveaways from partners and sponsors.

The home of Carnival, “the greatest show on earth”, and will showcase and market the culture of Trinidad and Tobago to the Caribbean region as it hosts CARIFESTA 14, this premier festival of the arts, from August 16-25, 2019.
As host nation, it is Trinidad and Tobago’s intention to create the space, avenue and hub for participating nations to flourish and “Connect, Share, Invest” in the arts and culture of the Caribbean. It will also provide an enabling environment for the discussions around sustainable growth and development of the creative industries and a major cultural tourism thrust.
