T&TEC wishes to advise customers that it is actively treating with reports of electricity outages caused by significant lightning activity and in some cases, fallen trees, resulting from inclement weather.
Emergency crews have been responding to reports continuously as the Commission works to restore supply to affected areas in the shortest possible time. Approximately 20 communities across Trinidad are affected, from Paramin in the north, Manzanilla in the east, central Trinidad, and Marabella in the South, with central and east being the most impacted. Included in the latter regions are Fishing Pond Road in Sangre Grande and Heights of Aripo, where trees are being cleared before the overhead lines and poles are restored, and Ravine Sable, Carlsen Field and Basta Hall.
While crews are being dispatched, timely restoration may be impacted if the rainfall continues unabated. However, customers should be reassured that we are treating the outages as urgent and various mechanisms have been put in place to facilitate speedy restoration.
T&TEC apologises for any inconvenience being experienced by customers at this time. Our trouble report hotlines, 800-BULB (2852) and 800-TTEC (8832), remain available 24/7 to take reports from customers.
