On Wednesday (July 17, 2019), after following due process, the Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation (HDC) removed two illegal structures located in one its housing communities in Couva. The activities are part of an on-going structured programme to treat with illegal occupancy, trespassing and homeowners’ breaches, inclusive of illegal structures. As the HDC indicated last week, residents who are in breach of the homeowner’s rules, are strongly advised to treat with the situation before the HDC resorts to its final position of demolition and/or eviction.
The HDC had the assistance of the TT Police Service during Wednesday’s exercise.
