The Ministry of Health advises the public of the recall of N- CORT 40 mg/mL., Ml Intravitreal/ Intraocular Use (Triamcinolone Acetonide Injection Bp) ,Batch No NC-O2 with Expiry Date March 2022, due to possible bacterial contamination.
This is a product of Nischi Lifesciences b141/142 Mahagujarat Indl. Estate, Moraiya, Ahmedabad-382213 (India). This drug is primarily used by specialist ophthalmologists (eye specialists).
While Triamcinolone Acetonide Injection BP is not registered in Trinidad and Tobago, it would have been brought into country via parallel illegitimate importation channels. The Chemistry Food and Drugs Division of the Ministry of Health has already seized stocks of this drug from the supplier.
Any consumers who have this drug in their possession are strongly advised to refrain from use and contact the Chemistry Food and Drugs Division IMMEDIATELY via (868) 623-5242 and 800-2333.
Pharmacies and medical supply companies must IMMEDIATELY cease the sale of this drug and inform the Chemistry Food and Drugs Division.
