Discussions continued today with the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) as the Minister of Communications Senator the Honourable Donna Cox forged ahead with the Government’s one voice communications mandate.
The two teams - from the Ministry of Communications and OPM - discussed the fusion of ideas and the consolidation of resources in order to improve Government services and boost team approach.
They both agreed that it is important to showcase the various opportunities available to citizens by the Government and to share these success stories.
Minister Cox believes that the one voice approach is particularly important in an information age where the democratization of information continues to present its own challenges but has led to greater citizen participation in decision-making.
Centralised communications is part of Minister Cox’s portfolio and as part of her mandate she intends to meet with all Ministries.
On 7 August 2019 Minister Cox held her first meeting with the Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Senator the Honourable Denis Moses. It was the first communications meetings held to streamline and ensure a one voice, one message approach to the Government communications.
