The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, His Excellency Song Yumin today met with the Minister of Communications Senator the Honourable Donna Cox to discuss mutual areas of training and communications.
During today’s courtesy call at the Ministry, the Ambassador said he welcomed any ideas for cooperation because China wants to open its doors wider to the rest of the world.
His Excellency Song Yumin explained that the People’s Republic of China already works with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in several areas. He said he believes the two countries are complementary.
Minister Cox thanked the Ambassador for his interest in the Ministry of Communications and repeated the Government’s intention to ensure the country’s population is informed and empowered through communications.
“We have a long history of cooperation and we look forward to working together, leveraging opportunities offered by the Chinese Embassy and of course, closer bilateral relationships,” said Minister Cox.
