Senator the Honourable Jennifer Baptiste Primus visited the Office of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) on Tuesday December 17, 2019 to present a video produced by the Ministry highlighting the impact of the ILO in Trinidad and Tobago. This year marks the the Centenary year of the ILO which was established in 1919.

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago was given the opportunity through the Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development to join the ILO in its Centenary Celebrations through the planning and hosting of various activities centred around the Centenary theme: 'The Future of Work'. The Ministry hosted five workshops with themes based on the ILO's Centenary Conversations; developed a history document highlighting the impact of the ILO on Trinidad and Tobago; executed a Poster and Essay Competition for primary and secondary schools and presented a commemorative token to the ILO replicating the relationship between the ILO and our country.

To culminate the activities, the Ministry commissioned the production of a video to showcase the significant impact that the ILO has had on the local labour landscape in Trinidad and Tobago. The video highlights just a few of the social justice issues that have been promoted by the ILO since its inception.
