June 2, 2016: Abbott Nutrition International has initiated a voluntary recall of Nepro Vanilla 8 oz metal can products with lot number 57648RA11. Records from Abbott indicate that some of this product was shipped to Trinidad in February, 2016. No shipment was made to Tobago. This recall does not apply to any other Abbott nutritional product, other flavours, or other packaging forms for example: ready-to-go hang bottles or re-closable plastic bottles.
The recall is being initiated on this lot of products out of an abundance of caution because some of the cans may have a different colour, smell, taste or texture which is inconsistent with other lots of Abbott nutritionals. Furthermore, Abbott has stated that while the likelihood of serious health risks to customers/patients who have purchased this product is highly unlikely, customers are advised to discontinue using this lot of products.
Consumers who have purchased this product should not consume it.
