June 3, 2016: Minister of Health, the Honourable Terrence Deyalsingh along with other Ministry executives will meet with Dr. Carissa Etienne, Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) on Monday, June 6th, 2016 to discuss areas of strategic partnership and collaboration. A media conference will follow to discuss the outcomes.
WHO: Dr. Carissa Etienne’s technical expertise lies in Health Systems and Services; Technology, Health Care and Research; Health Surveillance and Disease Management; Family and Community Health; and Sustainable Development and Environmental Health. Her input will be key in determining the ways in which PAHO/WHO can lend technical support of the achievement of the Ministry of Health’s Strategic Goals.
WHY: Trinidad and Tobago, through the Ministry of Health, continues to partner with and benefit from the technical expertise offered by PAHO/WHO in the past. This meeting is meant to affirm priority areas and re-strategize as the region meets the challenges of an evolving disease landscape.
