At around 12:30 p.m. today (Thursday January 23, 2020) Heritage Petroleum Company Limited received a report that a contractor was attacked and abducted from the company’s Guapo Field. The contractor was subsequently released in the Santa Flora area. However, he was robbed of personal items and a company vehicle was stolen in the process.

The Company’s Security personnel immediately responded, and a report was filed with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS). Investigations into the incident are underway.

Heritage Petroleum takes the safety and security of its employees, contractors and the public very seriously and has redoubled its efforts to minimize security risks by:

  • Working closely with the contractor company to ensure that the employee’s emotional and physical well-being is given the necessary attention and care
  • Assisting the TTPS with its investigation
  • Increasing security patrols in its fields and connecting roads
  • Implementing additional security measures

As the company works assiduously towards addressing these security concerns, the public is asked to exercise extreme caution while traversing the Field Roads and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities. If you see something, say something.
