Minister of Education the Honourable Anthony Garcia offered his congratulations to the winning bands at the National Schools Panorama 2020 competition. Following an exciting day of competition at the Queens Park Savannah on Sunday 26th January 2020, Guaico Presbyterian Primary School and Bishop Anstey and Trinity College East emerged victorious in the 2020 finals of the Nationals Schools Panorama Competition.

At the event, attended by Prime Minister Dr the Honourable Keith Rowley, twenty (20) bands competed for the championship titles. Guaico Presbyterian, 2019 Primary champions, retained their title while the Bishop Anstey and Trinity College East team dethroned Secondary titleholders Naparima Girls’ High School and Naparima College Combined pushing the Southern group into third place.

Minister Garcia expressed “It was no small feat for either of these bands to emerge victorious today. The discipline, dedication, commitment and strong support systems surrounding each team has now resulted in these wins. I wish to sincerely thank and congratulate each player, arranger, conductor, parent, teacher and supporter who ensured that each band was able to deliver quality performances.

I thank Dr Rowley for his continued support of National Schools Panorama and at the Ministry; we will continue to produce excellent players of our National Instrument to ensure cultural preservation and appreciation.” The Ministry of Education continues with the Schools Carnival competitions within the coming weeks. Students will be performing in the National Schools Chutney Soca Monarch, National Junior Calypso
