June 14, 2016: The Prime Minister, Dr. the Honourable Keith Rowley, met with representatives of the labour movement on Tuesday 14th June, 2016 at the Office of the Prime Minister, St. Clair Avenue, Port of Spain.
Prime Minister Rowley held discussions with the National Trade Union Centre of Trinidad and Tobago (NATUC) during the morning period and subsequently met with the Joint Trade Union Movement (JTUM) in the early afternoon.
Both trade union bodies offered very forthcoming contributions during the discussions regarding the country’s current economic situation and the labour movement in particular.
Prime Minister Rowley expressed that the Government of Trinidad and Tobago is committed and prepared to face the challenges ahead in a practical manner from a position of mutual respect and common purpose with the trade unions.
