August 23, 2016: Dr the Honourable Keith Rowley met with officials from Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Limited (BOST) of Ghana yesterday (Monday 22nd August) at the Office of the Prime Minister, St Clair. The BOST delegation was led by Mr Kwame Awuah-Darko, Managing Director and included Mr Ernest Essamuah , Chairman; Consultant, Mr Yaw Benneh-Amponsah; Business Analyst, Mr Edmond Biirba-Kombat and Trinidad and Tobago Honourary Consul to Ghana, Mr Hilton John Mitchell.
Also in attendance during the courtesy call were representatives of The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago (NGC) led by NGC Chairman, Mr Gerry C. Brooks and included Ms Maria Thorne, President (Ag); Mr Alvin Dookie, President (Ag), Phoenix Park Gas Processors Ltd (PPGPL) and Mr Ernest Esdelle, Manager, Engineering Services, NGC.
The meeting follows the official visit to Ghana by the Prime Minister in May 2016, during which Prime Minister Rowley and Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama held discussions on energy sector collaboration between the two countries and an initial Memorandum of Understanding was signed.
While in Trinidad and Tobago, NGC and BOST are expected to negotiate and execute a further Memorandum of Understanding for the development of a gas pipeline project in Ghana.
