September 21, 2016: The Borough of Chaguanas came alive on Friday September 16, 2016 as the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, hosted the second leg of Trinbago Fridays at the Chaguanas Community Centre.
This Cultural Showcase offered to the audience, a diverse selection of local artist, each with their added touch of crowd pleasing performances. These included Spicy, Erphaan Alves, chutney soca sensation Rooplal G and nine (9) time parang champions Los Alumnos de San Juan. Traditional Moko Jumbies roamed the venue to the enjoyment of all who were there.
There were also performances by the Swastika Dancers and twelve (12) time limbo champions and seven (7) time Best Village winners North West Laventille Cultural Movement. The evening’s activities concluded with the sweet steel pan music of the Couva Joylanders Steel Orchestra.
This cultural extravaganza continues in the city of Port of Spain on Friday September 23rd, 2016 at the Brian Lara Promenade. It also marks the end of the month long series of activities highlighting National Patriotism Month, which is being celebrated from August 31 to September 24.
