September 26, 2016: At about 1:17 p.m. today, Petrotrin was alerted to the presence of oil appearing on the surface in close proximity to one of its Offshore Trinmar Platforms.
Immediately, operations and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) personnel responded and began containment and clean-up efforts.
The source of the spill was identified and isolated. Repairs are being expedited to ensure minimum impact to the environment as clean-up operations continue.
The Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, the Environment Management Agency (EMA) and other regulatory agencies have been informed.
