September 28, 2016: The Ministry of Labour and Small Enterprise Development invites you to cover its Prize Giving Ceremony for the winners of its Chronicles of LabourVille Radio Competition on Wednesday September 28, 2016at the TSTT Corporate Box, Queen’s Park Oval from 1.30 P.M. TO 2.30 P.M. The Minister of Labour and Small Enterprise Development will give brief remarks at the event.
In light of increasing calls from the public to the Ministry, citing poor workplace practices by both employers and employees the Ministry saw the need to sensitize both workers and employers of their respective rights and responsibilities. The Ministry’s Conciliation Unit supported by the Corporate Communications Unit worked together to conceptualize and execute this campaign, which includes the production of television and press advertisements, mass distribution of posters and desk calendars with salient messages all related to sound workplace practices that promote a climate of industrial peace.
The radio competition was the first phase of this campaign, which started on August 15, 2015 on five (5) radio stations in both Trinidad and Tobago and ended on September 23, 2016. The draw for the prize winners was conducted on September 24 and 26, 2016.
