October 24, 2016: The Ministry of Works and Transport wishes to advise the public that there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the Southern Main Road, Chatham, between LP# 1983 – LP# 1986. This is to facilitate slope stabilization and road rehabilitation works, which are expected to commence on Monday October 24, 2016 and end on Friday February 24, 2017. These works will take place between the hours of 7:00am to 4:00 pm daily.
In light of the above, motorists are advised to comply with the following:-
- Please proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers
- Please comply with instructions from Police Officers on site to facilitate the safe and orderly flow of traffic
- Please be aware of heavy equipment entering and exiting the site
- Please drive with caution on all milled (possibly uneven) surfaces
- Motorists should drive at a reduced speed on approaching the work zone.
