National Flour Mills (NFM) Limited buzzed with excitement on Thursday 1st December, 2016, as representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, assisted in the distribution of over one hundred (100) melongene, tomato, pimento and hot pepper plants to enthusiastic members of its (NFM) staff.
The activity, which took place at NFM’s corporate headquarters on Wrightson Road, Port of Spain from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m., was only one in a series of events commemorating its
Quality and Safety Week which took place from Monday 28th November – Friday 2nd December, 2016.
In addition to the distribution of seedlings and novelty tokens, staff from the Ministry’s Extension, Training and Information Services (ETIS) Division, provided patrons with a series
of charts and leaflets containing home gardening tips on how to grow a variety of food crops as well as information on container planting, soil preparation, fertilizer application and
pest / disease control.
