December 28, 2016: On December 19, 2016, the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services brought relief to Ms George and Ms Candice Lincoln of Second Caledonia, Morvant, whose homes were recently destroyed by fire.

The relief came in the form of a Temporary Food Card valued at $550.00, clothing, as well as a Hamper donated by Abdul Aziz Trust from California, Couva. Ms George and Ms Candice were also advised of other grants and social support services available to them from the Ministry.

Both persons and their families expressed gratitude to the Minister of Social Development and Family Services, the Honourable Cherrie-Ann Crichlow-Cockburn, and the Ministry’s Executive and staff for their prompt action and for reaching out to them during this very difficult time.

The Ministry is also expected to meet with and assist Ms Sturge, another victim of Friday night’s fire in Morvant.
