Education Ministry strengthens partnership with Stakeholders

January 12, 2017: The Honourable Anthony Garcia, Minister of Education and a team of Ministry officials are continuing to meet with key education stakeholders to discuss matters pertaining to the Education system in Trinidad and Tobago.

Minister Garcia has so far met with the Catholic and Anglican Boards as well as the National Parent Teacher Association, and will continue to meet with several other stakeholders to discuss issues such as staffing, school repairs, curriculum and the National Test.

Minister Garcia said, “I am pleased to meet with our stakeholders. Our stakeholders are very important to us. We will not always see eye to eye on certain matters, but we must come together for the national good.”

During his meeting with executive members of the National Parent/Teacher Association (NPTA), Minister Garcia assured that he will continue to strengthen the Ministry’s partnerships with stakeholders in education.

NPTA President Zena Ramatali welcomed the Minister’s efforts to work together. She said, “We definitely share our passion for the nation’s children”. Among the topics discussed with the NPTA were the review of the National Test, feedback on the School Repair Programme and status on the completion of school buildings.
