April 15, 2016: The Tobago Jazz Experience (TJE) will sound off this weekend, and all systems are ready for another successful edition of the event.

This according to Secretary of Tourism and Transportation, Mrs. Tracy Davidson-Celestine, who says the event, is about much more than music.

“The Tobago Jazz Experience has several objectives,” the Secretary explained. “They are: one, to attract incremental stopover visitors to the island of Tobago, during a specific time of the year, to raise the awareness and viability of Tobago through this event marketing effort, to generate publicity in our key overseas market and even in our domestic market as well.”

Producing a quality event within budget and increasing the capacity of local performers is also a goal of TJE, she said. The Deputy Chief Secretary also explained that a new event will debut at THE 2016—Jazz on the Move.

“Jazz on the Move will take place in a number of different hotels across the island from Sunday 17th to 19th April,” she stated, “and it will basically see live music being provided at ten properties, bars, restaurants around the island of Tobago.”
