THA gets progress report from utility companies

April 15, 2016: A Steering Committee has been overseeing the works being conducted by several utility companies in Tobago, including TSTT, WASA, T&TEC and Digicel.

 

This was revealed by Assistant Secretary of the Division of Infrastructure and Public Utilities, Mr. Handel Beckles, who gave an update on Digicel’s infrastructural installations.

 

“Digicel has been reporting an increase in coverage in Tobago. Recently they launched their TV and Broadband Services in several locations and from Crown Point to John Dial and up to Castara as well.”

 

He said DIgicel—which recently employed 30 more technicians to ensure they stay on target—may also offer establish free wireless internet services to the public.

 

“They are also considering the establishment of Wi-Fi sites in Tobago, where our citizens will be able to access free Wi-Fi in Wi-Fi zones,” Beckles said.
