Heavy rainfall affects production at Caroni Water Treatment Plant

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in North, Central and South Trinidad served by the Caroni Water Treatment Plant, who are currently experiencing low water pressures or in some cases no water that, this is due to reduced production at the Plant, caused by flooding at the facility following torrential rainfall on Sunday March 4, 2018.

The Authority is currently engaged in carrying out remedial works, which are scheduled to be completed by 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 6, 2018.

Among the affected areas are:

North Trinidad served by the Valsayn Booster Station A & B:

  • Saddle Road, San Juan Febeau Village
  • Success Village, Laventille Malick
  • Trou Macque Santa Cruz

North Trinidad served by the El Socorro Booster Station:

  • Barataria St. Ann’s
  • Morvant Cascade
  • East Dry River Dibe, Long Circular
  • Port-of-Spain St. James
  • St. Barb’s Cocorite
  • Gonzales Belmont

Central and South Trinidad:

  • Cunupia Endeavour
  • Chaguanas Jerningham Road
  • Lange Park Longdenville
  • Felicity California
  • Bank Village Waterloo
  • Carapichaima St.Mary’s
  • Mc Bean Couva
  • Windsor Park Esperanza
  • Claxton Bay Philippine
  • Debe Penal
  • Siparia Fyzabad

The Authority further advises customers that it may take between 12 to 18 hours for the service to normalize to some areas in accordance with established water supply schedules.
