May 5, 2016: Former Clerk of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Vanessa Cutting-Thomas was sworn in last Thursday (April 28) as Presiding Officer of the Assembly Legislature. She replaces Kelvin Charles, who served as Presiding Officer for the last three years.
Charles resigned last month. Cutting-Thomas was nominated by Chief Secretary Orville London at the April 28 plenary session. Her nomination was seconded by Leader of Assembly Business Assemblyman Claudia Groome-Duke, the Secretary of Health and Social Services.
