The Minister of National Security, the Honourable Stuart R. Young, M.P. on 29 January, 2019 toured the National Security Facilities at Cumuto, along with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, Commanding Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard, Group Captain Darryl Daniel and the Director of the Strategic Services Agency (SSA).
Minister Young addressed various officers from the TTPS, the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF) and the SSA on his visit and discussed with the various heads of security the improved utilization of the facilities at Cumuto. The Minister envisages the increased use of these facilities by special units who will be tasked to pursue intelligence driven operations. The Cumuto facilities will also be used for specialized training.
