Prime Minister Dr the Hon Keith Rowley received a courtesy call today (20th May, 2019) from United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) at the Diplomatic Centre, St Anns.
The delegation of the Executive Board of UN Women was led by Her Excellency Pennelope Beckles, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to the United Nations and President of the Board and the UN Women Regional Director, Ms Maria Noel Vaeza.
The meeting focused on the on-going collaboration with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, the organisation’s partnership with this country to address gender-based violence and new projects to strengthen the same.
Also joining the meeting were Minister in the Ministry of Finance, the Honourable Allyson West, Minister of Planning and Development, the Honourable Camille Robinson Regis, Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Honourable Ayanna Webster-Roy, and Minister of Social Development and Family Services, the Honourable Cherrie-Ann Crichlow-Cockburn.
