The human resource capacity of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service was further strengthened last week Friday (July 12, 2019) when 159 trainee firefighters hailing from across Trinidad and Tobago were inducted into service.
Celebrating the achievement with the recruits was Minister of National Security the Honourable Stuart R. Young M.P. along with Permanent Secretary (Ag.) in the Ministry of National Security Ms Penelope Bradshaw-Niles; Chief Fire Officer Mr. Marlon Smith and other members of the Fire Service Executive.
Noting that he felt a great sense of honour and privilege to address the firefighters on the auspicious occasion, Minister Young extended congratulations to the recruits on their successful completion of months of rigorous training. The Minister thanked the members of the Fire Service for their dedicated service in protecting the people of this country, emphasising that he will do all in his power to work along with the Fire Service Executive and Fire Service Association towards ensuring a safer working environment for all firefighters.
The Minister also announced that a tripartite body will be established in fulfilment of a commitment given to the President of the Fire Service Association. The tripartite body will comprise members of the Fire Service Association, First Division Executive Officers and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Security to address the prioritisation of critical matters of the Fire Service as well as the management of financial resources necessary.
The Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service Passing Out Parade was held on Friday 12 July, 2019 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain.
