Port of Spain---A total of 4100 households will begin to receive food support from the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services from today - Wednesday, December 4, 2019, as the Ministry seeks to ensure that vulnerable families who are experiencing hardship and are unable to fully provide for the nutritional needs of their respective families are provided with the necessary support. This is in keeping with the spirit of caring and giving that the season of Christmas represents.

The distributions will continue until December 18, 2019 at various locations across Trinidad and Tobago. Families were selected by their respective Member of Parliament. It is the Ministry’s hope that this support will bring some cheer to the families. The food support cards are valued $550.00. Persons are also reminded that the cards are redeemable only at merchants approved under the Food Support Programme of the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services. All recipients will be contacted by their respective MP Offices with information on distribution dates and times.
